An AI sales agent is software that talks with shoppers on your online store and helps them buy. It answers product questions, recommends the right product and adds it to the cart, using your store's own catalog, prices and stock. Chatty is an AI sales agent built for Shopify. It also answers order questions after the sale and shows the revenue its conversations bring in.
Look for five things. The agent should answer from your own store data, let you test and check its answers before shoppers see them, hand the chat to your team when it isn't sure, show the orders and revenue it brings in, and keep your cost within a limit you set. Chatty does all five: it syncs your Shopify catalog, shows the sources behind each answer in Test AI, hands over on clear triggers, marks every assisted order in Shopify, and lets you set a monthly spending limit.
Chatty is an AI sales agent rather than a scripted chatbot. It writes each answer from your store's data instead of following a fixed script, and it can take actions such as adding products to the cart and looking up an order. Your team also gets a live chat inbox for the conversations that need a person.
Yes. Connect Gorgias or Zendesk in Chatty's integrations, and every resolved conversation that includes a customer email is saved there as a ticket with the full transcript. In Gorgias, these tickets are tagged chatty_resolved. Your team keeps one history in the helpdesk it already uses.
No coding needed. Install Chatty from the Shopify App Store and it syncs your products, prices and stock from Shopify. Add your FAQs and store policies, test a few real questions, then switch the chat widget on. The help center setup guide takes about 15 minutes.
It answers from your own store data: product details, variants, prices, stock, FAQs, discounts and policies. How many products it is trained on depends on your plan, from 200 products on Free to unlimited products on Plus. Before going live you can test any question, and each AI reply has a Review sources button that shows which data it used, so you can fill a gap the moment you spot one. When a question needs a person, the AI hands the chat to your team.
No hidden fees. Your plan includes a set number of AI conversations each month. If you need more, you pay a flat fee per extra AI conversation: $0.40 on every paid plan, and a higher plan does not lower that rate. You control your budget: set spending limits so costs never surprise you. Most stores stay within their included conversations.
Open Analytics in Chatty. The Overview tab, on every plan including Free, shows assisted revenue (the value of orders placed within 7 days of a Chatty chat), your chat-to-sales rate and the share of store sales from Chatty. On paid plans the Sales tab splits that revenue between the AI and your team, and Chatty also writes the attribution onto each Shopify order.
Chatty answers from the data you give it: your Shopify products, variants, prices and stock, plus the policies, FAQs and pages you add. In Test AI, every reply has a Review sources button that shows the questions, products and pages it used. When your data does not cover a question, the AI can hand the chat to your team, and the question appears in Unresolved questions so you can add the answer.
It hands the chat to your team. That happens after two low-confidence replies in a row, when a shopper repeats a question, when a shopper sounds frustrated, or any time a shopper asks for a person. When your team is offline, the AI can collect the shopper's email and question so you can follow up. Each of these questions is listed in Unresolved questions, grouped by reason.
Open Test AI in Chatty and ask a question the way a shopper would. Click Review sources under the reply to see the questions, products and pages the AI used. If something is missing or wrong, click Add Q&A or Add other sources to fix it at the source.
It does not have to. Chatty Helpdesk is in early access: request it and we turn it on for your store, and it then works on every plan, with email tickets, priorities, assignees and statuses. If your team already runs Gorgias or Zendesk, Chatty can work alongside it: resolved chats that include the customer’s email are saved to your helpdesk as tickets.
